My Review of the Intellectual Devotional
I purchased a copy of The Intellectual Devotional with the intent of cycling it into my reading for success program.(posted in another thread in this forum) Being a die-hard trivia buff who is dripping out the ears of useless knowledge, I found the book's title intriguing. With visions of getting smarter with each 15 min "smart bit" I purchased the book as my book selection back in DEC. I must confess that It never made it in my reading for success program. Not because it is a lousy book. I find it very interesting. But info comes in little snippets. I read a passage in less than 5 min. the info is factual and written in plain and easy language. Too easy for me. There is no thought process; nothing to intellectually digest." So I am placing this book in my other "opportunity" reading list. The books on this list have a special space in my home...right next to my porcelain reading throne. You are laughing. but I will have you know...I studied an entire college curriculum in chemistry on the toilet. I would like to think of this book as the aristocratic version of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader." Now if you will excuse me...I need to go spend a few moments to...(ahem)...brush up on my history, science, and literature.
